On Sunday, 10th<\/sup> May 2026 during the clean up action \u201cZavrni rukave\u201d (Roll up Your Sleeves), students and employees of Secondary Grammar and Economics School \u201cBranko Radi\u010devi\u0107\u201d and Secondary Vocational School \u201cVasa Pelagi\u0107\u201d in Kovin, together with The Association of Sportfishermen and Sailors \u201cDunav\u201d from Kovin and \u201cContra Margum\u201d Citizen Association as well as our fellow citizens who joined us, we cleaned up all the waste on the river bank along the pier of Kovin.<\/p>\n\n\n

Like the entire Serbia, the action took place from 10 to 12. \u201cContra Margum\u201d Citizen Association provided protective gloves, necessary tools and refreshments for all the participants, while Mr Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107 \u2013 Kamenjar donated bags and participated in the action himself.<\/p>\n\n\n

About 80 participants, some of whom arrived with their pre-schoolers, filled around 60 bags of 150 l volume with waste collected alongside the Danube bank.<\/p>\n\n\n

We used the opportunity this day to water all the trees we had planted on Dunavac during the \u201cMy tree 004\u201d event and introduce Celtic tree horoscope within \u201cGreen City\u201d initiative. According to our previous agreement with Public Utility Company \u201cKovinski komunalac\u201d, their employees will collect the waste on Monday and take it to the landfill.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Association of Sportfishermen and Sailors \u201cDunav\u201d from Kovin donated freshly caught freshwater fish which was expertly prepared and served at the \u201cRiblja \u010darda\u201d restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n
