On Saturday, 7th March 2026, members of “Contra Margum” Association, together with our friends from “Tilija” plant nursery and the owner of the restaurant “Riblja Čarda”, planted 40 new saplings of deciduous trees by the Danube pier.
“Mapsoft” company from Belgrade donated 6 ash tree saplings which were planted at the Dunavac entrance. During the year 2025, within aerial photography taking and LiDAR scanning, they generated approximately 3 tonnes of CO2. They calculated that it takes 6 new trees in order to absorb the approximate amount of CO2, which they did, as a socially responsible company, by donating to our Association. We hope that many other companies from our town, who generate large amounts of CO2 through their work, will follow this example of socially responsible business conduction and respond to our call by joining some of our future actions or organise planting trees independently.
The Association of Sportfishermen and Sailors “Dunav” from Kovin donated 3 Koelreuteria paniculata saplings which were planted by their office, while the “Riblja čarda” restaurant owner decided to support our action by planting 10 ash trees.
During this action, trees were also planted by Inženjering DOO, RP Žegarac Pera, Feroprodukt DOO, ODD Tačnost, Eva Veselinović, Maša Vuletić, Sanja Iglendža, Nada Žegarac, Nataša Nedeljković, Jovana Merča, Luka Topalović, Jovan Anđelkov, Lav Krivošić, Saša Lukić, Đorđe Ćosić and others who wish to remain anonymous. We are immensely grateful to all of them and we hope they are satisfied by what we accomplished today for the benefit of all our fellow citizens, as well as all the guests and visitors.
We also owe gratitude to the managers and employees of the Public Utility Company “Kovinski komunalac” who once again helped us to implement this project. With their combination machines they dug all the holes and enabled a water connection at the fountain for the purpose of watering the saplings we planted.
Also, we are grateful to Municipal Administration of Kovin for recognising our activities as socially beneficial and suppored our work. We sincerely hope that in november 2026, during our forthcoming action “My tree 005” we will have an opprtunity to plant more than 100 new saplings in our town, for which help will be necessary from all those who want Kovin to be a healthier, cleaner, and a nicer place to live in.
